I'm participating in the Eversource Walk for Boston Children’s Hospital on June 9.
This will be the second year that Ellie's Family Walking Team has walked in support of BCH. This year in particular, we are walking to raise money for the immunology department and their continued research into auto immune diseases.
In November of 2022 Ellie was diagnosed with an extremely rare auto immune disease called Opsoclonus-Myoclonus Syndrome, or OMS. OMS affects 1 in every 5 million children worldwide and is often accompanied by a tumor.
In late December of the same year, Ellie had a tumor removed and started on a course of aggressive treatment, including immunotherapy, to combat the OMS symptoms. Ellie continues to receive infusions at BCH and likely will for the foreseeable future.
We are forever indebted to her team of doctors and nurses in the neuroimmunology department as well as the CAT/CR where Ellie receives her infusions.
Please help us raise money in support!
