Social Media Tips

Social media is a great way to share your experience and gain support for your fundraising efforts. Use these tips to spread the word on Facebook and Twitter:

  1. Use pictures: Everyone loves photos and they get the most attention in busy newsfeeds, especially when they feature close-ups.
  2. Include the link to your fundraising page: Make it easy for followers to donate by including the link in every Facebook post or tweet. Need a shorter url to save characters? Free services like bitly.com or ow.ly will create one for you.
  3. Keep your text short: People are short on time, so keeping your posts brief helps ensure they get read.
  4. Encourage sharing: Expand your network by asking your friends and family to share your posts/retweet your messages.
  5. Say thanks: When someone makes a donation, post a thank you on their Facebook wall and tag them on Twitter. Everyone appreciates being thanked and the message will be shared with their networks, spreading awareness about your efforts.
  6. Use our hashtag: Label all of your tweets and posts with #MilesforMiracles. People who search on the hashtag will find your posts, even if they’re not connected with you. It’s a great way to build community and share ideas, fundraising tips, and photos
  7. Connect with us: Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. It’s an easy way to show your family and friends that you’re connected with the hospital.
