I've joined the Miles for Miracles team to help the brave kids at Boston Children's Hospital and will be running the 2024 Boston Marathon in support of this cause.
My life took an unexpected turn when I was just 12 years old during a soccer game. A fall led to a devastating diagnosis: an ABC tumor had eroded my C5 vertebra leading to a fracture. It felt like my dreams of playing soccer or running again were shattered. The first surgeon I met gave me heartbreaking news - my tumor was inoperable. But then, I found hope at Boston Children's, where I met my incredible team of surgeons, Dr. Proctor and Dr. Hedequist. They performed a 12-hour surgery to remove my tumor and stabilize my spine. Their care not only saved me but also gave me a newfound purpose.
Now, 10 years after my initial surgery, I'm running the Boston Marathon for Boston Children's, with a desire to advance care for children with cervical spine injuries. I want to ensure that more young patients can experience the same transformation I did, and that's why I'm asking for your support.
Please support my fundraising efforts to help the amazing kids and families at Boston Children's Hospital. Your donation will fund vital research, innovative treatments, and world-class care, ensuring that more children can receive the life-changing care that I did.
Together, we can make a difference that means the world to me and these courageous young patients. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey!
