I've joined the Miles for Miracles team to help the brave kids at Boston Children's Hospital.
The Boston Marathon has been the one marathon I have always wanted to run, and to be able to do it for an amazing charity and hospital makes it even more special. Running became a way for me to balance out my own mental obstacles and give me an outlet to be a better version of myself. To now be able to use this as a way to help others is truly amazing.
This charity and opportunity was made available to me by one of my current soccer players, Benjamin Westlake, who for the past 11 years has worked hard to raise both awareness and money for this charity. The chance to be partnered with Ben as his runner is awesome and will make this experience that much more special. With the roles of coach and student reversed for this collaboration, Ben will help guide me and coach me all the way to the finish line.
I have been a coach now for the past 17 years and I have helped so many of your sons and daughters over the years reach their goals. Today I ask you all to help me now reach mine, but more importantly, to donate to an amazing cause.
Every little bit helps; thank you in advance.
Sincerely Coach Rich Powell
