I never met my nephew. Will Carlin Jamieson was born prematurely in 2016 and lived for only 10 days. During that brief time he earned the nickname 'Super Will' for the courage and fight he personified. Will's legacy lives on in my brother Scott, his wife Beth, and their 3 sons, Trevor, Dennis, and Calvin.
Scott first ran the Boston Marathon in 2018, as a way to channel tragedy into inspiration. The 'Team Will' tradition has continued each year since, with both family and friends running in Will's memory and raising money for Boston Children's Hospital. I'm honored to carry on the tradition this year.
I'm both nervous and excited to run my first marathon. I'd never been much of a runner, but in recent years have grown to love it, and the peace that it brings me during difficult times. I often use those moments to think of Will and what he might be like today, as a 7 year old in elementary school, like me, the 3rd son in his family.
Your donations will help the incredible team at Boston Children's Hospital continue to provide the best possible care to children in need, as they did for my family. They will fund breakthrough research, treatments, and support services for kids and their families. Lastly, your support will help push me to the finish line in April!
