Luca Gabriel Ruotolo was born into the arms of angels on June 5, 2015 at 8:23 p.m. at the U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa in Okinawa, Japan.  He is the cherished son of Joe and Jessi (Hotchkiss) Ruotolo originally of Guilford.  He is the answer to their prayers and they waited for his birth with joyful expectation.  During his brief time with his parents, he never left their arms, enjoyed stories, a birthday celebration, and meeting family and friends.  He is mourned by his maternal grandparents, Bill and Katy Bloss of Guilford, paternal grandmother Pina Ruotolo of Guilford, paternal grandfather Randy Ruotolo of New Haven, maternal grandparents Stuart and Brenda Hotchkiss of Jefferson, NH, and many aunts, family members, and dear friends who love him so much.  Luca gave us a lifetime of love during his short time on earth.  

We are hosting a fundraiser in memory of our son, because we want to help Boston Children’s Hospital continue its amazing work for babies and kids. Boston Children's was instrumental in helping us during Jessi's pregnancy to diagnose Luca and help us on this very difficult journey as we dealt with his diagnoses.  Luca had a very serious heart condition coupled with Trisomy 18, a fatal chromosomal condition.  From the staff members to the specialists, they walked us through every step of the way with care, compassion, and sensitivity to help us make the best decisions for our beautiful son.  We want to help contribute to this incredible hospital so that they may be able to continue to help families like ours who are facing the most difficult of decisions and diagnoses.
