Thank you for supporting the Augmentative Communication Program at Boston Children's Hospital. Holly asked that proceeds from the launch of her book benefit John Costello's program which had a significant impact on the quality of her life during her last year.
John Costello, MA, CCC-SLP, Director of the Augmentative Communication Program at Boston Children’s Hospital invented message banking, a communication program that improves the lives of adults who have lost the ability to speak due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Providing ALS patients dignity during a time of chaos, John and his team help patients communicate through technology and no tech solutions liberating them from silence, and allowing them to preserve and regain a part of the self that ALS has stolen—their own voice.
While trying to launch an authentic service for people with ALS, John has no budget for his message banking work, clinical intervention or home based services Holly believed deeply in this work and John’s vision for a dedicated service for people with ALS. Your generosity will help this service become a reality.
