Welcome to Lindsay's 40th Birthday Fundraiser in Memory of Jack Gagne
I am hosting a 40th birthday fundraiser, because 40 years is reason to celebrate and give back... and because I want to shine a light on the love and support that Boston Childnre's provided our dear friends during a most difficult time in their lives.
I want to help Boston Children’s continue its amazing work for kids! Many of our friends and family have told us how fortunate they have felt to have a leading Children's hospital accessible to them and their children's medical needs. Although we knew this to be true, we most recently experinced the light that is Children's when Gabe & Jen's son, Jack, spent the last month of his life receiving care there.
Jack, Gabe, and Jen were familair with Children's as Jack had a team of exceptional specialists who cared for him (and supported his parents, family and friends) over the three short years of his life. We saw this while visiting, but also when Jack's doctor attended the celebration of Jack's life that Gabe and Jen hosted for all of us to gather and remember their remarkable little boy. What we know is:
- The hospital's patient care programs are remarkably sensitive to what sick and injured children and their families really need.
- Researchers regularly make amazing discoveries that change children's lives.
- Boston Children's welcomes kids whose families can't afford health care—more than any other hospital in Massachusetts.
- Community programs make a point of reaching out to help low-income and at-risk kids.
And the hospital doesn't just stop there. Boston Children's truly understands the importance of training the next generation of top pediatricians and nurses, so they can continue to provide the best, most innovative care possible to kids. As a public health professional I know firsthand how important bringing the next generation of experts into the field of medicine is to our future.
Please join me as I celebrate my birthday month, Jack's memory and Boston Children’s Hospital. My goal is to raise $1,979, because that was the year I was born. Donations in denominations of $3 or $30 would represent the 3 short years Jack blessed all of us on this earth. Donations of $15 would represent the year Jack was born into his amazing family.
Fly high, Jack! We will continue to share your light, spread you inncocent, loving spirit and bright smile with all that we do!
XOXO,
Lindsay
PS- Gaber is running the Boston Marathon for Children's again this year! All of you who know him and knew him in college know that this is pretty amazing in itself :) It shows how much Children's has done for Gabe, Jen and Jack.
