Jen has Graduated!
It only took 28 years, but on May 19 I finally earned my undergraduate degree! It has been a tremendous experience going back to school, and I couldn't have done it without the support of my family and friends. Now I'm asking for that support again.
To my very generous friends and family who are considering a graduation gift, I have a very special request. Most of you know that I was recently diagnosed with a rare genetic immunodeficiency disorder. That diagnosis was first made in my son at Boston Children's Hospital. It was the persistence of one very smart, very kind researcher/rheumatologist, Dr. Lauren Henderson, that led to the discovery of a gene mutation that affects both of my sons and me. The diagnosis not only answered many questions about my own health, but has allowed us to enter into a promising treatment for our disorder. All of this has been made possible through the research Dr. Henderson is involved with, along with Dr. Talal Chatila, at BCH.
In lieu of graduation gifts, I'm asking that those wanting to give make a donation instead. Donations made through this page will go directly to Dr. Henderson and Dr. Chatila's research for our specific genetic disorder. I can't think of a better way to celebrate my graduation than by giving back to these dedicated researchers who have changed our lives.
Thank you!
