2nd Annual Gillian Tara Shor Memorial Fundraiser
We look forward to hosting a fundraiser again this year to support the fight against Brain Tumors (while also having some fun) in memory of Gillian.
With a minimum donation of $75, you are invited to an open bar from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Warehouse Bar and Grill (40 Broad St). In addition to drinks and light bites, we are very fortunate to have Brian Scully of Dalton and the Sheriffs performing, whose debut album cracked 4 billboard charts. Simply click Give Now on the right side of this screen.
Where will your money be going?
This year, we’ve teamed up with Boston Childrens Hospital. The money raised will be going directly to Dr. Scott Pomeroy’s research project “The Clinical Impact of Classifying Brain Tumors”. Dr. Pomeroy is the the Neurologist-in-Chief at Children’s Hospital and was one of the doctors that treated Gillian 18 years ago when she was lost at only 13 years old.
Our daughter Gigi (named for Gillian) was born 2 weeks early on June 15th of last year which was exactly 17 years to the day that the Shors lost Gill. We hope Gigi grows up to have half the spirit, spunk and love for life and family that her Auntie Gill showed in her short time here.
The Shors remember Gillian calling Dr. Pomeroy “Scotty” and having a playful, happy relationship with him. Memories of him putting on finger puppet shows for Gill to make her smile during a time of such difficulty is an example of his wonderful bedside manner, a special quality when also working on life altering research.
We hope that with our help “Scotty’s” research will make a difference in this fight and prevent other families from experiencing the tragedy that the Shors did. Thank you so much for your continued support.
*Your donation receipt will again serve as your entry ticket (or you can donate at the door)*
