Greetings all,
In 1979 I was diagnosed with osteomyelitis, a rather strange disease for a kid with no broken bones, as those are the folks who usually suffer from it. I was 11 years old, and my home town was flooded. I have two older sibs, and my parents would juggle taking care of them with canoeing out to the car on high ground and driving in to the Boston Floating Hospital where I was being cared for. My ward was filled with children from all around New England. I remember the event as though it were yesterday. Me and my family were able to get the help I needed, it is time for me to find a way to give the people who are going through it now the help they need.
I will be participating in Yoga Reaches Out for my fifth year this year to Support the Boston Children's Hospital. Please join me in spirit with a donation.
- give children battling the most complex diseases treatments they can’t find anywhere else;
- help children in your town and those across the world get a second chance;
- fuel 3,600+ researchers working to find cures at the world’s leading pediatric research hospital;
- help patient-families (many of whom travel from far away to find answers) with urgent needs, including housing, food and clothing;
- bring crucial care to families through not one, but four outpatient psychiatry clinics;
- provide wellness services like Reiki, yoga and a safe place to simply exhale for families facing the stress of caring for a critically ill child;
- and so much more.
